Three Things To Look For In A Good Poster

Ever gone shopping for sports posters? Do you really get what you want when you buy a poster or do you end up throwing it away a month after you purchase it? There are certain things that you should look for in a poster so that it can last you up to a lifetime and even more if it's rare and valuable. Here are some things to keep in mind the next time that you look out for a great sports poster for your wall or collection.

• It has to be relevant – Picking out just about any sports poster is easy to do. You can walk in a shop, pick out a player, team or sport and spend a few dollars for something that you may end up wrecking in a short amount of time. This is not the kind of value that you should place on posters.

When picking a sports poster out, make sure that the poster means something not only to you but to other fans as well. For example, why would you get a poster of a ball being shot through a hoop when you can have a great poster of someone like Kobe Bryant dunking that ball instead? It is really important that the posters that you choose for your collection hold some amount of relevance. A great example is the basketball team that represented the United States in the Beijing Olympics of 2008. A poster with the whole team on it is much more valuable than just a poster of the Olympic flag.

• It has to be printed well – Print is fast becoming something of the past and with technology making things a lot faster and cheaper to do, quality can become more questionable than ever before. Sure, you might be able to find a $2.50 poster but it won't last very long. It is better that you spend a few more bucks on a poster that has been printed with the best ink possible because it will last for a very long time. Look for posters that have been printed so that it looks like great care has been taken in its production. These are rare but can be very valuable to you in the future just because of the color condition that they are in.

• If it's green, it's great – We are not talking about the color. We mean what kind of paper a poster is printed on. Now, you may enjoy your sports posters being printed on glossy photo paper. But if it's no help to the environment, it's not a good investment at all. Look for printing presses that use recycled paper for their poster prints. These are actually hard to find so if you do find such a service imagine just how rare those posters are and just how valuable they may be in the future.

Poster shopping is a lot more difficult than you may think especially if you are a collector. List down on a notebook the qualities of posters that you expect. Then take that list with you the next time that you go shopping for your favorite sports poster.
