Four Sports Poster Posting Tips

Some people would think that posting sports posters is as easy as one, two, three; however, that should not be the case. It may sound easy but the task of posting your beloved posters should be taken seriously, especially if what you have is an authentic and autographed, life-sized poster which usually comes with a hefty price tag. So here are some tips on how to post sports posters on various surfaces.

1. Glass surfaces. If you live in a house with glass walls, then you might begin to wonder how to post your beloved sports posters. Well, for one, you cannot simply use adhesives because it will certainly leave some form of residue once you remove it from the glass. This residue can certainly mar the clarity of your glass walls.

When posting posters on glass walls, there is no better way to do it than using those plastic suction cups. Yes, the very same kind you use in your car so you can hang those tiny stuffed animals and some car fresheners. These plastic cups with hooks attach themselves securely on the glass surfaces and you can use it to hang your sports posters. Just make sure that your posters have those tiny holes on the edge, where you can attach the hooks.

2. Bulletin boards. There are times when the artist in us kicks in and we want to add a little twist to the typical sports poster posting. For some twist, some would use bulletin boards rather than simply posting it on the walls or using picture frames. So if you are one of these individuals who tend to use bulletin boards to post their sports posters, then you might not want to consider using adhesives or suction cups as these two will simply not get the job done.

Often times, bulletin boards come along with metal clips or a set of pins when you buy them, so use these instead. If you have second thoughts of making a tiny hole on the poster, then use the metal clips. However, if your poster has holes on the edge, then you can use the pins as hooks.

3. Bare walls. When we speak of bare walls we are simply talking about walls with no paint or wallpaper on it. If you have bare walls, there is really no need to fret about posting sports posters on it because it is bare, you don't have to worry about adhesives peeling off the paint or wallpaper. In fact, this is the easiest type of wall to post your posters on to.

If you have bare walls, the best way to post is by using liquid adhesives, although there are still other alternatives like nails, hooks and even tapes. However, if you need that poster for long periods of time, then liquid adhesives are your best bet. If you use this type of adhesive, it would be very hard to remove that poster from the wall so make sure that you are serious about putting it there and that you don't want to put it somewhere else.

4. Painted or wallpapered walls. When you are about to put a poster on a painted or wallpapered wall, avoid using adhesive tapes and worst liquid adhesives. These two can cause serious damage to your paint and wallpaper.

The best way to post sports posters is by using nails or hooks. When you use these, there is less damage done; only two small holes and no stripped paint or wallpaper. Most posters now come with holes on the top part to make hanging or posting easier so you don't have to drill holes onto your poster.
